FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
We know you have questions before you're ready to reach out. Here are the ones we hear most often — answered honestly, without the runaround.

The Basics
What is Travel and Art Club?
Travel and Art Club is a social connection program that brings people together through creativity, shared experiences, workshops, local outings, We create welcoming, small-group environments where women, families, and small groups can build confidence, friendships, and meaningful connections in a natural and comfortable way.
Through our Create, Explore, and Thrive experiences, we focus on learning through living — encouraging people to try new things, connect with others, and experience the world in ways that feel approachable, supportive, and enjoyable.
It’s not about pressure or perfection. It’s about connection, creativity, and real experiences that help people grow.
Who do we serve?
Travel and Art Club is a social connection program for women, families, teens, and small groups looking for a more personal, welcoming, and low-pressure environment. We create opportunities to connect through creativity, shared experiences, local adventures, workshops, and travel.
Our small-group approach is designed for people who value a calm, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where they can feel comfortable being themselves, trying new things, and building meaningful relationships at their own pace.
Thrive, our travel and consultation program, offers personalized travel planning, guidance, accommodations, and creative travel supports to help make travel feel more approachable and enjoyable.
Is this therapy?
No. Travel and Art Club is not therapy or a clinical treatment program. We are a relationship-centered social connection program focused on creativity, community, real-life experiences, and supportive environments where people can learn, grow, and connect naturally.
How is this different from other programs?
Most programs focus on one thing — recreation, therapy, or skill-building. We intentionally blend all three: art, real-world experiences, and community, in environments that feel natural rather than clinical. We don't teach skills in isolation. We create the conditions where skills develop on their own, because the experience makes them necessary. And we lead with belonging — because everything else grows from there.
Getting Started
How do I know if this is a good fit?
Travel and Art Club tends to be a great fit for women, families, and small groups who are looking for meaningful connection, creative experiences, and opportunities to explore new things in a comfortable, supportive environment. Our space is designed for people who enjoy learning through doing, value community, and want real-life experiences that feel welcoming rather than overwhelming.
If you’re looking for a smaller, relationship-centered environment focused on creativity, conversation, shared experiences, and personal growth — this is likely a good fit. Whether you’re coming independently, with family, or as part of a small group, we aim to create experiences that feel approachable, encouraging, and genuine.
Not sure? Reach out. We’ll figure it out together.
Do you offer a first visit or trial session?
Yes. Most new members begin with a creative workshop, small group experience, or introductory session to help everyone feel comfortable in the environment before committing to anything ongoing. This gives you a chance to experience the atmosphere, meet the group, and see if the space feels like the right fit.
We’re happy to help guide you toward the best starting point based on your goals, interests, comfort level, and schedule. Whether you’re coming independently, with family, or as part of a small group, we aim to make the process feel welcoming, low-pressure, and supportive.
What's a discovery call and what should I expect?
A discovery call is a short conversation — usually 20 to 30 minutes — where we talk through where your person is right now, what they're working toward, and whether Travel and Art Club is the right fit. There's no commitment involved. It's just a real conversation so we can both make a good decision.
How do the three programs work together?
Create, Explore, and Thrive each offer a different way to experience Travel and Art Club, but they are all connected through the same focus on creativity, community, and meaningful experiences.
Some people are drawn to creative workshops and studio time through Create. Others enjoy local outings, social experiences, and community-based activities through Explore. Thrive focuses more on personalized travel experiences, planning support, and real-world adventures.
You can participate in one area or enjoy a mix of all three depending on your interests, comfort level, and goals. There’s no set path or expectation — we want the experience to feel flexible, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable.

The Programs
What happens during an Art Club session?
Create sessions are small-group, in-person gatherings built around hands-on art projects. Projects vary and may include painting, mixed media, 3D design and printing, seasonal work, and other creative experiences. The goal isn't performance — it's expression, confidence, and connection in a space where people feel safe to try things. All materials are included.
Does my person need to be good at art?
Not even a little. Art Club is not about talent or output. It's about the process — what happens when hands are busy and people are alongside each other. We've watched some of the most meaningful connections form over a project that didn't turn out the way anyone planned.
What kinds of places do you go on Explore outings?
Outings vary and might include restaurants, cafés, museums, zoos, animal encounters, parks, shops, local events, and community spaces. The specific destination matters less than the real-world practice it creates: ordering food, navigating a new environment, managing time, staying flexible, making decisions. That's where the growth actually happens.
Are tickets and meals included in the Explore price?
The hourly rate for Explore covers planning, facilitation, and support. Tickets, meals, and personal purchases are the responsibility of the participant or family unless specifically noted for a particular outing.
What does the $300 per day rate for Thrive include?
The daily rate covers Alanah's planning, leadership, on-trip presence, and support throughout the experience. Travel expenses — lodging, transportation, meals, and activity tickets — are typically separate unless explicitly included in a specific trip package. Details are always clarified before any trip is confirmed.
What will families get through Thrive?
Depending on the experience and level of support requested, families may receive:
A personalized written itinerary

A list of helpful supports, comfort items, and travel tips for the trip
